Michael J. Gibson joined GWTGG when he was admitted to practice in California in 1984. He has pursued a wide ranging practice in the fields of business and real estate transactional law over the past twenty-five years, acquiring extensive experience in business and real estate litigation along the way. Mr. Gibson leads the firm's new Architectural Preservation Group, offering GWTGG's clients a rare expertise in the expanding sub-specialty of land use law that focuses on the preservation of architectural and landscape resources possessing historic or cultural value. In connection with his Architectural Preservation practice, Mr. Gibson has the following memberships: National Trust for Historic Preservation Forum; Society of Architectural Historians; Partners for Sacred Places; California Preservation Foundation; Los Angeles Conservancy; Society of Architectural Historians, Southern California Chapter; American Institute of Architects, Los Angeles Chapter; and Redondo Beach Historical Society.

Mr. Gibson is also active in various community organizations. He served as President of the South Bay Bar Association in 2000, and continues to act as the Chair of its Lawyer Referral Service Committee. He has been a member of the Redondo Beach Preservation Commission since 2004, and is currently the Chair of that Commission.
